How To Prepare for Your Boudoir Photoshoot.

What You Should do Before Your Boudoir Session.

3 to 5 Days Before Your Session.

PICKING OUT YOUR OUTFITS: Finish planning out all your outfits that you want to wear during your session. You want to make sure that the outfits that you choose fit your body shape and your style. Your wardrobe picks don't just have to be of lingerie or bra and panties. You can wear oversized sweaters with cozy socks, button-up dress shirts, or t-shirt and jeans. There are many options that you can wear during your session to make you look and most importantly, feel sexy. Read our full guide on "What to Wear For A Boudoir Session" here.

USE LOTION: Make sure you’re moisturizing every day leading up to your shoot!

STAY HYDRATED: Especially now, so that your skin has a nice glow to it!

YOUR HANDS AND FEET: Treat yourself to a mani/pedi. Enjoy the benefits of nicely trimmed nails, cleaned-up cuticles, and a nice hand/foot massage. Your hands and feet will be in almost every photo, so make sure your nails are well trimmed and taken care of. If you are painting your nails, make sure you use a color that you are going to be happy with seeing in almost every photo and that is not distracting.

WAXING: Waxing ahead of your boudoir photoshoot is a great option, but it’s definitely not necessary. We recommend scheduling a wax about 4-5 days before your photoshoot in case you experience any skin irritation.

SPRAY TANNING: Avoid spray tans or tanning lotions. No matter how natural tanning sprays and lotions may seem, they create an orange glow that cannot be retouched after your session. If you care about tan lines, keep that in mind as you choose your outfits.

START STRETCHING: Some of the poses are going to require you to hold your body in positions that your muscles might not be used to holding.

The Night Before Your Session

SHAVING: We recommend shaving at least 24-hours before your session, so that any knicks or skin irritations have time to heal before your session.

PACKING UP: Make sure your boudoir bag is packed, and you remove all tags of any lingerie outfits.

NO ALCOHOL: Avoid a lot of alcohol and salty foods. We want your skin to feel refreshed.

SLEEP: Get a good night’s sleep so you wake-up refreshed. No one wants dark circles under their eyes.

The Day of Your Boudoir Session

MORE STRETCHING: Stretch the morning of your session. You will be arching your back and pointing your toes like you’ve never arched and pointed before. It makes such a difference to making your images look incredible if you can nail the pose. So, stretch so you won't be achy the next day!

HAIR AND MAKE-UP: Come prepared with your hair and make-up done. You don’t have to get professional hair and makeup for your boudoir photography session, but we definitely recommend it! Not only does it take some pressure off not having to do it yourself, it’s also a fantastic way to feel relaxed, pampered and glamorous ahead of your session.

NO CLOTHING LINES: Wear loose fitting clothing to the studio to avoid having your panties, bras, socks, and jeans leaving imprint lines on your skin. If you can, wear a bralette or go braless if you are comfortable doing so. Please do not put hair ties around your wrists or wear a watch the day of your session.

YES EAT: Eat a light meal or snack beforehand. You don’t want to be hungry during your session but not stuffed either. Don’t eat a heavy meal.

TRAVEL: Allow yourself plenty of travel time, so you’re not feeling rushed when you arrive.
